He is a graduate of Fayetteville Technical Community College (2006) with a diploma in Funeral Directing. A local native, Junior resides in Mayodan with his wife, Brenda Smith Coleman. He is an active member of Beaver Island Baptist Church. He and his wife are members of the mission team with their denomination. He is also a U.S. Army veteran who served his country during the Vietnam era. Junior was assistant scout master for Mayodan Boy Scout Troop #562 for 12 years and is a member of Gideon's International. Junior was employed with Sears and Burlington Industries prior to his employment at Colonial Funeral Home.
He joined the funeral home staff in 2001.
