Rolen Lane Lawson Obituary (1943 - 2019)

LAWSONVILLE Rolen "Lane" Lawson, 75, passed away, Friday, January 11, 2019. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. Interment will follow in Snow Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Lane was born June 12, 1943, in Stokes County, to the late Howard Franklin and Myrtle Irene Lawson. He retired from RJR and Car Quest. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith and loved tractors and the outdoors. He never met a stranger and was willing to help anyone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Lawson and a sister, Argel Lawson-Galbis. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Jean "Jeanie" Moore Lawson; a son, Darrell Lane Lawson (Whitney); a daughter, Connie Lawson Hughes (Derek); a sister, Sheeler Ann Lawson (Bill Volz); and three grandchildren, Morgan Elizabeth Evans (Justin), Dylan Lane Lawson, and Natalie Grace Hughes. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel and other times at the residence.
