Noah Radford Carlton Obituary (1950 - 2025)

It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Noah Radford Carlton, 75, of Mayodan, NC. Noah was a gentle soul who walked through life with a deep sense of compassion and caring for his family and friends. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Noah served his country with honor and courage, receiving the Purple Heart during the Vietnam War. His bravery was matched only by his kindness, and he carried both with quiet dignity throughout his life. Noah was a man of many hobbies and skills, finding joy in the simple pleasures of creating and sharing. For many years, he devoted himself to pottery, a craft that became both his passion and his gift to others. He shared this love generously with his friends and students at Rockingham Community College, leaving behind not only beautiful works of art but also lasting memories of his patience, creativity, and encouragement. Noah is survived by his partner, Kim Shiremen of Eden, NC, his sister, Susan Langdon & husband Joe of Trade, TN, and his nephew, Shaun Vernon of Trade, TN. He was preceded in death by his father, Boyd Carlton Sr., his mother, Agnus Carlton (Radford), and his brother and best friend, Frank Carlton. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his unwavering compassion, and the legacy of love and artistry he leaves behind. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
