Loris Terrell Thompson Obituary (1924 - 2020)

SANDY RIDGE Loris Terrell Thompson, 96, passed away, Monday, March 30, 2020, at her residence. Mrs. Thompson was born September 19, 1923, in Stokes County to the late Sam and Jose Venable. Loris was a member of Maple Springs United Methodist Church. She grew up in Sandy Ridge, went to school in Sandy Ridge, and became the first female school bus driver in North Carolina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Alfred Wayne Thompson, and a sister, Sonobe Terrell Harold. Survivors include her son, Jonathan (Tammy) Thompson; daughter, Yvonne Wilkerson; grandson, Ian Thompson: niece, Ann Bullins. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
