Lester Doss L.D. Smith Obituary (1935 - 2019)

LAWSONVILLE Lester "L.D." Smith passed away, Thursday, January 10, 2019, at his residence. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Five Forks Wesleyan Church Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born July 14, 1935 in Stokes County to Wheeler and Nellie Mae Doss Smith. He was a member of Five Forks Wesleyan Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Carolyn Shelton Smith; brothers, Melvin, Claude, and Clifford Smith; sister, Ethelene Young; great-grandchildren, Joey and Ayden Parham and Ellis Voyles. Survivors include son, Reverend Kevin Doss (Donna Faye) Smith; daughters, Luanne (Alton) Vaden and Dawn Smith; brother, Winford (Rita) Smith; sister Bonnie McGrady; grandchildren, Candance (Keith) Voyles, Amber (Jason) Parham, Courtney Smith, Jacob, Joshua, and Dylan Amos; great-grandchildren, Allison, Aubrey, and Jillian Parham, and Alayna, Jack, Alexis, and Evelyn Voyles.
