SANDY RIDGE Andy Oakley, 81, passed away, Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at his residence. The funeral service will be held Friday, June 7, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Sandy Ridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Mr. Oakley was born March 27, 1938, in Rockingham County, to the late Dewey and Lottie Aaron Oakley. He was a faithful member of Sandy Ridge Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. Andy was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Oakley.. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Patsy Martin Oakley; daughter, Dawn Oakley Boles (Frankie); sisters, Gloria Joyce (Ralph), Frances Wilkens, and Bonnie Handy; grand-daughters, Maranda Fowlkes and Makensie Wagner; grand-sons, Jon and Zach Fowlkes.
