KING - Katie Lee Hutson Langan, 38, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, May 29, 2017 at her home. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel, 1020 Hope Beasley Road, Sandy Ridge, North Carolina. Katie Lee was born on June 29, 1978 in Patrick County, Virginia to the late James Michael Hutson and Nancy Lee Shelton (David) Hepler. She was a member of King Moravian Church and was employed at Cardinal Innovations as a community engagement specialist. Katie Lee received her Master's Degree from Wake Forest University in 2009 and was licensed as a professional counselor. She loved to paint while listening to the music of the Avett Brothers and snuggling with her dog. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Michael Hutson; maternal grandparents, Cecil and Stella Shelton; paternal grandparents, James Monroe and Katie Lee Hutson. Survivors include her mother, Nancy Lee Shelton (David) Hepler; her husband, Tom Langan; brother, Heath (Christie) Hutson; sister, Tracy (Daniel) Moore; nieces, Susannah Cricket Moore and Allison Hutson; nephews, Austin Pruitt, Robert Austin Hutson, and John Marley Moore. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel and immediately after the service at 3841 NC 8 Highway North, Danbury, North Carolina.
