Jewell Sawyers Mabe Obituary (1945 - 2021)

LAWSONVILLE - Jewell Sawyers Mabe, 76, passed away, Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the home of her daughter in Chatham, VA. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, March 29, 2021 at Peters Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the graveside service from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m., at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and face coverings are requested. Jewell was born February 19, 1945, in Grayson County, VA to the late Samuel Carroll and Flora Marie Vass Sawyers. She was a member of County Line Christian Church in Axton, VA and was retired from Tultex, Inc. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Bethel Mabe; a daughter, Rita Joanne Moser; a brother, Virgil Samuel Sawyers, and a sister, Margie Woods. Survivors include daughters, Rachel Clifton (Mark) and Stephanie Yarbough (Eddie); sisters, Vera Gay Sawyers, Anita Wyatt (Mike), and Connie Sue Sawyers; grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, and Jordan Harbour and Nathaniel, Chase, Zoe, and Mason Yarbough; two great-grandchildren, Everly and Ada Harbour; and numerous nieces and nephews.
