Jerry Lee Joyce, Jr. Obituary (1994 - 2021)

- Jerry Lee "J.J." Joyce, Jr., 27, left this earthly life Saturday, September 11, 2021. The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm Friday, September 17, 2021, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel and other times at the homes of the parents. A graveside service will be held at 11 am Saturday at Wilson Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 3737 Dodgetown Road, Walnut Cove, N.C. J.J. was born in Rockingham County on February 13, 1994. He loved hunting, riding his dirt bike, baseball and basketball. He was a kindhearted young man who wanted to make people laugh, see others smile and enjoy themselves. J. J. worked and enjoyed carpentry and masonry. He was preceded in death by a grandmother Connie Barden Hill; great-grandfather, Clarence Joyce; and step-grandmother, Linda Joyce. Survivors include his father, Jerry L. Joyce, Sr (Luane); mother, Natasha Hill Dodson (Michael); siblings, Jesse Joyce, Riley Joyce, Tristan Dodson, Breanna Dodson, Tyler Dodson; grandparents, Otis Hill, Jerry Calvin Joyce, Delphine Martin (step-grandfather Bobby Martin), and great-grandmother, Idell Joyce. Donations may be made to Wake Forest Baptist Health Brenner Children's Hospital or flowers will be accepted. Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
