Janet Esther Frazier Moore Obituary (1939 - 2018)

On Tuesday, October 16, 2018, Janet Esther Frazier Moore wife of Clement Moore passed peacefully to be united with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Tuesday, April 25, 1939, was the beginning of a life well lived. Janet Esther Frazier Moore was born one of nine children to Early and Doris Frazier in Galax, Virginia. She is survived by brothers, Hassell Frazier, Gaylan Frazier (Pat) of Galax, Virginia, and Wade Frazier (Paula) of Mount Airy, NC. Her sisters include Elois Leonard (William) of Burlington, NC and Geneva Nichols, Geraldine Lineberry, and Mary Jane Lawson (Junior) all of Galax, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Early and Doris Frazier, and sister Charlotte Jones of Galax, VA. While the great depression was coming to a close in 1939 with the start of World War II, Janet witnessed many changes during her lifetime. In 1966, Clement and Janet became husband and wife, and at twenty-seven years of age, Janet with her two daughters, Tina Phillips (John) and Teresa Bowen (Randy Marsh), became stepmother to two daughters Gail Tuttle (L.B.) and Karla Hutcherson (Greg). While this is common today, in 1966 she was in the minority. Janet was a member of Emmanuel New Eden Moravian Church and was active as a diener, a choir member and a member of the womens fellowship in the late 60s, 70s, and early 80s. In the late 80s, after moving to Lawsonville, Janet became active in Oak Ridge Baptist Church. She sang in the choir, and was active with the ladies mission group remaining active until death. Later in life, Janet became a CNA and worked at Walnut Cove nursing home as well as private duty nursing. She had a special place in her heart for the elderly. Janet loved children and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren which include Christopher Williams (Erica Moorefield), April Kaylor (Jason), Allan Phillips (Erika) and Kristoffer Phillips (Nicky), Jessica Bowen, Curtis Bowen, Thomas Tuttle (Kimberly), Jason Tuttle, and Darryl Tuttle (Morgan). Janet and Clement also have nine great granddaughters and four great grandsons. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 2 pm with Mike Sands and Francis Martin officiating. Family visitation will begin at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Salem Chapel Church Cemetery in Walnut Cove, NC. Memorials may be made to Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Love from all of us until we see you again.
