Jamie Mason Nance Obituary (1929 - 2018)

STONEVILLE Jamie Mason Nance, 89, passed away, Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at UNC Rockingham Health. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel with visitation two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Sandy Ridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Mr. Nance was born April 21, 1929 in Rockingham County to the late James Hardin and Katie Dell Carter Nance. He was a member of Sandy Ridge Christian Church and was a United States Army Veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Hill Nance; seven brothers, Willie, Frank, Martin, Otis, Homer, Worley, and Thomas; three sisters, Claudie Curry, Gracie Shelton, and Rosie Martin. Survivors include sons, Danny (Mitzi) Nance and Daryl (Dottie) Nance; daughters, Elaine (Jr.) Stratton and Betsy (Ronnie) Haymore; four grandchildren, Amy Cassel (Gene Shelton), Angela (Brandon) Stahly, Ashley (Joshua) Pierce and Bryan (Kandace) Haymore; step-grandson, Shannon (Crystal) Williams; great-grandchildren, Joshua (Stacey) Cardwell, Leann Cassell, Megan Cassell, Peyton Price, Michael Stahly, MacKenzie Stahly; great-great-grandchildren, Cassie Cardwell, Gabriel Cardwell, and Kaelyn Catron; step-great-grand-daughter, Dakota Williams.
