Frances Hopper Watson Obituary (1934 - 2018)

MADISON - Frances Hopper Watson, 84, after a lengthy illness, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 19, 2018, at her home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 2 pm Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Comers Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Frances was born in Rockingham County on March 26, 1934, to the late John W. Hopper and Gertrude Benton Hopper. She was a faithful member of Maple Lawn Baptist Church and retired from Madison Throwing Plant/Burlington Industries. She loved the Lord and her family. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Watson; brothers, William, Roanoke, and Eugene "Jackaway" Hopper; sisters, Gladys Collins, Margie Haley, and Sarah Lawson. Survivors include her devoted daughter and son, Francine and Jarrett Watson; sisters, Nancy Sparks, Helen Gray Baughn; brothers, James and Charlie Lee Hopper; and many nieces and nephews. Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
