Eugene Sanford Shelton Obituary (1947

Eugene Sanford Shelton, 77, of Lawsonville, N.C., passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at home. Mr. Shelton was born September 12, 1947, to the late Lemely Sanford Shelton and Mary Plina McHone Shelton. He was a past employee of Nickelston Fence Company. In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death his wife, Elizabeth Jane Smith Shelton; daughter Anna Marie Barker; grandchildren Matthew and Andrew Shelton; and sisters Betty Collins and Mozelle Tucker. Eugene is survived by sons, Christopher Shelton (Tabitha) and Michael Shelton; sister, Donna Faye Shelton; six grandchildren, Chris Shelton, Chelsea Shelton, Alex Shelton, Trey Barker (Pamela), Kimberly Tucker (Bradley), and Jayden Repass; and three great-grandchildren, Emma Shelton, Levi Shelton, and Kolsynn Tucker. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2025, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Interment will be held in the Shelton Family Cemetery, 2264 Moore Road, Lawsonville.
