Clifford Wesley "Wes" Hylton Obituary (1936 - 2020)

SANDY RIDGE - Clifford Wesley "Wes" Hylton, 84, passed away, Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Cone Health/Annie Penn Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel with visitation one and a half hours prior to the service. Interment will follow in Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Hylton was born January 26, 1936, in West Virginia to Charlie and Etta Hylton. He was a member of Clearview Baptist Church and was a United States Veteran with the National Guard. He retired from Unifi and was an avid rabbit hunter and loved to garden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Emmett, Carl, James, and Russell Hylton and sisters, Willa Mae Shelton, Henrietta Cassidy and Lelia Rorrer. Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Maxine Priddy Hylton; daughters, Teresa Martin (Danny) and Janice Mize (Glenn); step-sons, Jerry Jones (Jane), Greg Jones, and Stephen Jones (Penny); brother, Charles Hylton (Velma); sister, Pina Nance (Ray); grandchildren, Shawn Rorrer and Amber Rakes; step grandchildren, Whitney Jones Bishop and Lauren Jones; great-grandchildren, Titus and Asher Rorrer and Collin Rakes; step-great-grandchild, Natalie Jane Bishop. "Wes" can be viewed on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
