Carrie Ruth Mabe Dodson Obituary (1925 - 2019)

WINSTON SALEM Carrie Ruth Mabe Dodson, 93, wife of the Reverend Lewis H. Dodson, died Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Arbor Acres United Methodist Retirement Home in Winston Salem. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Clear Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Walnut Cove, NC. Mrs. Dodson was born August 5, 1925, in Stokes County, to the late Reese T. and Carrie Stephens Mabe. She was a loving wife and mother. She was a strong Christian and worked hard with her husband on the charges he served in the United Methodist Conference. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Mark Lewis Dodson in 2001; two sisters, Eunice Butner and Beatrice Heath; and four brothers, Paul, Spencer, Ira, and Levern Mabe. She is survived by her husband, Reverend Lewis H. Dodson of Arbor Acres; several nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, and a host of friends.
