Bobby Lee Harris Obituary (1936 - 2025)

BOBBY LEE HARRIS Bobby Lee Harris, 88 of Madison went to his heavenly home on Monday, July 7th 2025, after a recent injury and brief illness. Bobby was born July 21, 1936, to Daisy Love Smith and Henry Harris of Eden, NC. After high school he joined the US Air Force and proudly served his country based in Korea. After which he returned home to Eden to begin his career working in electrical and mechanical fields of trade. He had a strong work ethic that gained the respect of his fellow coworkers. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family and helping others with carpentry, gardening, working on cars and welding. He was a jack of all trades with vast knowledge to get a job done right. He was a member of Delta Methodist Church. Bobby’s pride and joy was his very large and loving family. He had 8 children that he adored: Pam (Mark) Stophel, Susan (Rick) Fields, Gerrie Moorefield (Shaun), Eddie (Robyn) Moorefield, Shane (Karen) Mabe, Shawn (Laura) Mabe, Christy (Jeff) Hayden, a special grand”daughter” Tiffanie (Brandon) Stewart; 17 other amazing grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. He is survived by 7 children, 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, his sister Ruby Scott, niece Patty (Craig) Hicks as well as very dear friend Dale Holt and canine companion “Max”. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years Gloria Harris, son Kevin Moorefield, brother JR Harris, sister Dorothy Harris and dear friends Gene Akers, and Jerry Fargis. Papa will be deeply missed by all, leaving a void for no other to fill for a family who loved him dearly and whom he loved endlessly. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, July 11, 2025,at Delta Methodist Church at 3pm. Visitation will follow the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home.
