Bertha "Bert" White Throckmorton Obituary (1937 - 2023)

MADISON- Bertha "Bert" White Throckmorton, 85, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at her home. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Eden United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at Colonial Funeral Home in Madison. Mrs. Throckmorton was born in Rockingham County to the late Robert Lee White and Bessie Price White. She was a former employee of Washington Mills. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Watson Throckmorton; son, Terry Throckmorton and grandchildren, Chad Throckmorton and Mary Leigh Throckmorton. Survivors include her children, James Throckmorton (Barbara), Jesse Wayne Throckmorton, Leo "Lee" Throckmorton (Mary Belle), Billy Ray Throckmorton and Roy Franklin Throckmorton (Rhonda); daughter-in-law, Sandra Throckmorton; caretaker and loving family member, Jeannie Spainhour; grandchildren, James Michael Throckmorton, Tracey Throckmorton Steele, Heath Throckmorton, Billie Jean Throckmorton, Randall Throckmorton, Terry Thorckmorton and Jared Throckmorton and nine great-grandchildren.
