Anna Pearl Riggs Obituary (1931 - 2025) - Sandy Ridge, North Carolina

Mrs. Anna Pearl Martin Riggs, age 94, of Sandy Ridge, NC, peacefully passed away at home on Monday, December 1, 2025. She was born on April 1, 1931, to the late Robert Lee "Buck" Martin and Nina Mae Woods Martin. Anna Pearl was a graduate of Sandy Ridge High School and led a life full of love and compassion for her family. A devoted wife, mother, Mema, grandmother, and great grandmother, Anna Pearl's selfless nature was evident in how she cared for her loved ones. She was not only a skilled seamstress, creating beautiful clothing for her children, but also a hardworking tobacco farmer who toiled on the family farm. Her green thumb shone in her love for gardening, yielding bountiful vegetables and vibrant flowers, which she enjoyed cooking and canning. Anna Pearl's faith was central to her life. She attended Oak Ridge Baptist Church and Hill Top Baptist Church whenever her health allowed. She is now reunited with her beloved husband of 63 years, Curtis Ellington Riggs, her parents Robert Lee Martin and Nina Mae Woods Martin and her five brothers, Paul Dean Martin, Robert Lee Martin Jr, Larry Franklin Martin, Billy Martin, and Danny Jackson Martin. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted daughters, Polly Riggs, Linda Farmer, Sharon Woods (Billy), and Kathy Riggs Mabe; her sister in-law Glenda Carter; her grandchildren, Chandra Baity, Kevin Cook (Katie), Jason Woods (Kelly), Ashley Daves (Joshua), Kyle Farmer (Rachel), Landon Farmer, Tory Mabe, and Kayla Roberts (Jordan); as well as her great-grandchildren, Koby Martin (Olivia), Tyler Baity, Paige Cook, Lucas Cook, Peyton Woods, Conner Daves, Jameson Farmer, and Kensington Farmer. Mrs. Anna Pearl Martin Riggs will be deeply missed but remembered for her unwavering love, nurturing spirit, and dedication to her family. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel and all other times at the residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with interment following in the Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Sandy Ridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 4128 NC 704 Hwy E, Sandy Ridge, NC 27046.
