Alfred "Al" James Griffin Obituary (1928 - 2022)

SANDY RIDGE - Alfred "Al" James Griffin, 93, left this earthly life, Thursday, January 20, 2022, ay LifeBrite Community Hospital of Stokes. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 -2 p.m.) Interment will follow at Delta United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Griffin was born November 1, 1928, in Stokes County, to the late Elmer William and Bessie Mabe Griffin. He was a faithful member of Delta United Methodist Church and was retired from Gravely's Ridgeway Clock. He loved his family, enjoyed farming and gardening, and working outside. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Craig Griffin; and brothers, Curtis, Walter, E.W., Harvey, Otis, Lee, and Franklin Griffin. Survivors include sons, David Griffin (Cheryl), Dale Griffin (Amy), and Donnie Griffin (Kristy); a daughter, Janie Price; sister, Elsie G. Stanfield (Bob); ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
